CrutchVerse Something to Lean On

One verse to lean on

Following Jesus is not always a stride. Sometimes it is a limp.

A CrutchVerse is one verse, one truth to lean on. Not a whole Bible study, not a performance plan. Just something solid to hold you up when you are tired, weak, or about to go backward.

Day 3 · Comfortable in the Dim

“And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.”

John 3:19–20 · King James Version

The first week

Seven days. Seven verses that hold weight.

This is the whole of the free book, start to finish. Each day below is one verse and the truth Jared pulls out of it. The full day, the teaching, the check-in, and the choice it puts in front of you, is one tap away.

Day 1 · Genesis 3:11

Who Told You That?

Accepting something as truth isn’t just hearing it or thinking about it—it’s agreeing with it to the point that it starts shaping how you see yourself, how you respond, and how you live, and if that agreement didn’t come from God, then no matter how right it feels, it will slowly lead you away from what is actually true.

Day 2 · Ecclesiastes 3:1

I Don’t Have Time

You don’t have time because time isn’t yours to own—it’s yours to enter. God already gave each moment a purpose. When you align with what this time is for, you stop forcing what doesn’t belong and start living with clarity.

Day 3 · John 3:19–20

Comfortable in the Dim

Clarity isn’t about finding the right perspective—it’s about stepping into the right light. If it feels gray, you may be standing at a distance. When you stop adjusting the light and let Christ reveal what’s really there, you don’t just see truth—you see yourself honestly.

Day 4 · Matthew 27:46

Why — For Me

It’s not wrong to ask why. But don’t use it to challenge God — let it draw you into truth. When Jesus said “why,” He wasn’t questioning the Father — He was revealing the cost. And when you hear it, you’re not meant to ignore it. You’re meant to answer it. Let your “why” bring you closer, not pull you away.

Day 5 · Ephesians 6:10

Not Your Armor

You don’t face what’s in front of you with what you can carry— you face it with who you’re standing in. If it’s not Christ, you’re uncovered.

Read Day 5

Day 6 · James 2:18

Judge Me

Faith that hides can’t help. And faith that won’t be seen won’t be followed. Real faith says, “Watch me walk it”—because that’s where Christ gets revealed.

Day 7 · Psalm 55:22

What Are You Leaning On?

You are going to lean on something. Make sure what you're leaning on can hold you. God's Word isn't just something to read. It's truth strong enough to put your weight on.

Read Day 7

“You are going to lean on something. Make sure what you're leaning on can hold you.”
